Trakr records your runs. That means it handles where you went, which is about as personal as data gets. This page sets out exactly what it keeps, where it goes, and who can see it. It is written plainly on purpose.

What Trakr records

Your account. An email address, and a password if you did not use Sign in with Apple. If you did use Apple, Trakr receives whatever Apple passes on — which is an email address, real or relayed, and nothing more. Trakr never sees your Apple ID password.

Your profile. A display name, a username, and optionally a photo, a short bio, and the region you run in. You choose all of these and you can change or clear any of them.

Your runs. While you are running, Trakr records your location from your phone's GPS, along with the distance, duration, pace, splits and elevation it works out from those positions. This needs location access while the app is in the background, because a run does not stop when your screen locks.

Health data, if you allow it. With your permission Trakr reads heart rate and workout data from Apple Health so it can show heart-rate zones, and writes your completed runs back as workouts. This is read on your device. Health data read from Apple Health is not uploaded to Trakr's servers and is never shared with anyone. You can refuse Health access and the rest of the app works normally.

Anything you post. If you share a run to the community, the post carries what you chose to include: the figures from that run, a caption, a photo if you added one, and a map of the route.

The waitlist. If you enter your email on this website, it is stored so we can email you once, when Trakr reaches the App Store. That is the only thing it is used for.

What Trakr does not do

• There is no advertising in Trakr, and no advertising identifier is collected.
• There are no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
• Nothing about you is sold or shared with data brokers.
• Trakr does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Who can see your runs

By default, only you. Your recorded runs are private. They are stored on your phone and synced to your account so they survive a new phone or a reinstall, and the database rules mean no other account can read them.

That changes only when you post a run. A post is public to other Trakr users, and it contains what you put in it.

Routes shared in a post are trimmed. The first and last 200 metres of the route are removed before the map is generated, and the remaining path is simplified. A run that starts and finishes at your front door does not show your front door. This happens automatically and cannot be switched off, because it should not be something you have to remember.

Lifetime totals are off unless you turn them on. Your all-time distance and run count appear on your profile only if you enable that, and turning it back off removes them rather than hiding them.

Your region. If you set a home region, Trakr can show where your distance places you among other runners in that region. The region is an area you pick, not a location Trakr derives from your runs.

Where it is kept

Runs live on your phone first, so the app works with no signal. They are then synced to Trakr's backend, which runs on Supabase (Postgres databases and file storage). Photos you attach to a post are stored there too.

Account emails — sign-up confirmations, password resets — are delivered by Resend.

These are the only companies that process your data on Trakr's behalf, and they do so only to provide the service. Data may be stored on servers outside the UK and the EEA; where that happens it is covered by the standard contractual clauses those providers offer.

How long it is kept

Your runs and profile are kept while your account exists. Delete your account and they are deleted with it. A post you delete is removed from the feed immediately and cleared from the database afterwards. Waitlist addresses are deleted once the launch email has gone out.

What you can do

• See it. Everything Trakr holds about you is in the app: your runs, your profile, your posts.
• Change it. Edit or clear your profile, change your password, and edit or delete any post, at any time.
• Take it. Ask for a copy of your data and you will get one.
• Delete it. Delete your account from Settings and everything goes. There is no waiting period and nothing is kept back.
• Withdraw permissions. Location and Health access are yours to revoke in iOS Settings whenever you like.

Under UK and EU data protection law you also have the right to object to processing and to complain to a regulator — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office. Trakr processes your data to provide a service you asked for, and on the basis of the consent you gave for location and health access.

Children

Trakr is not intended for children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them. If you believe a child has created an account, email [email protected] and it will be removed.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and you will be told in the app before it takes effect.
